The price difference between a PSA 9 (Mint) and PSA 10 (Gem Mint) graded card can range from a modest 20% premium to a staggering 10x or more, depending on the card's rarity, player popularity, and overall market demand.

For modern cards (2020+), PSA 10 premiums tend to be smaller because print quality has improved and more copies achieve Gem Mint status. For vintage cards (pre-2000), PSA 10 copies are extremely rare and can command massive premiums over PSA 9.

As a general rule: if the PSA 10 premium is under 1.5x the PSA 9 price, the PSA 10 is usually worth the upgrade. If the premium exceeds 3x, the PSA 9 often represents significantly better value for collectors who want a high-grade copy without paying the "perfection tax."
